Securing your computer

I’ve been reading a lot lately about securing your computer. This has come up because apparently, many of us go about our business and do not realize that we may be spewing out spam.  Certainly that was the case with me.

One of the disstressing things I’ve seen lately, is email that bounces back to me…email I’ve never sent! Usually it’s on topics that I would never send to begin with…things for pills that affect body parts (the parts I don’t even own!), notices that you’ve won a massive amount of money that you can collect after you supply me with your details, and offers to get you software and the like at bargin prices.

This group,  The Institute for Spam and Internet Public Policy (ISIPP) has started an initiative to “Take Back the Internet”. They offer good information on how you can secure your computer at little or no cost.
